Frequently asked questions
+ − Is all Korean food spicy?
No — this is the biggest myth about Korean food. Plenty of favorites are completely mild, like bulgogi, galbi, japchae, jajangmyeon, and seolleongtang. Even at a spicy meal there is always rice and gentle side dishes to balance it.
+ − What Korean dish should I try first?
For a gentle, crowd-pleasing start, try bulgogi (sweet marinated beef), bibimbap (a mix-it-yourself rice bowl), or Korean fried chicken. All three are mild, familiar, and hard not to love.
+ − Where can I try Korean food near me?
Korean restaurants exist in most cities worldwide. Open any dish page here and tap 'Find it near me' to search Google Maps for Korean restaurants around you, with hours and reviews.
+ − Is Korean food healthy?
Much of it is vegetable-forward and fermented — dishes like bibimbap, banchan side dishes, and stews with tofu and kimchi. As with any cuisine, some items are lighter than others, and we note the ingredients on each dish page.
